Everything you need to know about the STRATRONIX STA-100 PAA
The STA-100 is purpose-built as a Private AI-Agent Appliance (PAA): pre-installed with OpenClaw AI runtime, optimized for on-device LLM inference (Llama 3, Mistral, Qwen 2.5), and managed as an appliance (not a general computer). Unlike a Mini PC that you have to configure from scratch, the STA-100 ships working out-of-the-box with the AI agent stack pre-configured. The hardware uses an 8 核 ARM 架构 octa-core SoC with neural processing unit (NPU), enabling 15-30W inference — 5-10× more efficient than x86 Mini PCs for the same AI workload.
No. All AI inference runs locally on your premises using on-device LLMs. The STA-100 is designed for always-on, online-required operation when you want updates, remote monitoring, or cloud-side AI supplementation — but it does not require internet access to run AI agents on your data. For regulated industries and air-gapped environments, this is the core benefit: zero data ever leaves your network unless you explicitly opt in.
The STA-100 ships with three open-weight models pre-loaded: Llama 3.1 8B (general purpose), Mistral 7B (instruction following), and Qwen 2.5 7B (multilingual including Chinese). You can download additional models (Llama 3.1 70B, Mistral Large, DeepSeek, CodeLlama, custom fine-tunes) via the management UI. Model updates are pushed automatically as new high-quality open-weight models become available.
Every STA-100 includes a 2-year limited warranty covering hardware defects, manufacturing faults, and pre-installed software issues. The warranty also includes firmware and model-library updates pushed automatically over the lifetime of the device. Extended warranty (3-year and 5-year) is available at point-of-sale. The warranty does not cover physical damage, unauthorized modifications, or third-party software issues.
Yes. The STA-100 supports fine-tuning of open-weight models (LoRA / QLoRA / full fine-tuning of 7B-class models on the included 32GB storage, expandable to 512GB). Typical fine-tuning projects (10,000-100,000 samples) complete in 4-12 hours on the device. Data used for fine-tuning never leaves your premises. See our technical documentation for detailed instructions.
A STA-100 is a one-time $499 hardware purchase. Cloud AI subscriptions range from $20-30/user/month. For a team of 10+ users with steady AI usage (over 50,000 API calls per month), the STA-100 pays for itself in under 4 months. After that, ongoing cost is just electricity (~$5-10/month).
